From NRO Newsletter -Morning Jolt
by Jim Geraghty
The night in a nutshell: President Obama was the salesman assuring you that you can afford the new sports car. Paul Ryan was your accountant, reminding you that you can't.
Dan McLaughlin summarizes his message as, "You're not screwed yet. But soon."
I'm told Rob Long saw "ten minutes of clarity, which beat sixty minutes of meandering."
Jon Henke: "Paul Ryan was great. Straightforward, sincere & he acknowledged that Republicans needed to earn back trust."
Jim Pethokoukis: "Listening to Ryan reminds me of listening to the late Jack Kemp, the utter belief and conviction. It's energizing."
Oh, and last night, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told Greta Van Susteren that the stimulus created or saved 3.1 million jobs.
Sigh.
