Do We Have It?

In this article by NRO's Tony Blankley the health care bill is compared to a time of historical note. My first favorite part of this article is when he says "...free middle-class America — if it still has its historic character — will not tolerate the yoke of socialism being put upon their necks." (Emphasis mine)

My question is do we have it? We like to use terms and images that recall the spirit of our ancestors. But does the majority of the country really have it?

My second favorite part: "Let us devoutly pray — and commit to ourselves — that this time freedom shall be reacquired . . . peaceably."
